Livewire forms an integral part of the New Horizon programme, catering for 15 - 18 year olds each morning, (Monday to Friday) from 10am to 1pm. It is currently co-ordinated by Alliance Youth Works, a Coleraine based organisation and a committee commissioned by New Horizon. Livewire has developed over the years to accommodate 300+ teens coming together to grow in their faith and also to challenge how they live their Christian lives in an age when it is becoming more difficult to be 'salt' and 'light'.
The program includes worship, games, group-work, discussion times, drama, and a whole lot of craic!
In years gone by, Livewire has tackled such issues as our identity as Christians, having a 'Dangerous Wonder' in relation to God, and the young people have also been encouraged to 'Wise Up' in terms of Christianity and what it means in their lives. The 2003 programme encouraged those attending the event to 'Know, Love and Live' the Bible. In 2004, Livewire was "Stripped", tearing away religious baggage, getting back to a 1 to 1 relationship with God.
